My photo
Australia
I ran away from teaching to the country to grow veggies. There are also some chooks and a pair of troublesome goats who were so much trouble they had to go! My simple green life isn't always as simple or as green as I'd like...but I keep trying!

August Camellias

Number one
This one you have already seen...
but as it flowered in August,
it belongs here.

Number two

Number three

Number four

Number five
Number six
I have been hanging out for this one.
It is my favourite.  I photographed
this one on my hand so you can see
how large the bloom is.
You can just see my finger
at the top of the flower.

I love its pink ruffles.

Well, that is about all for camellias except a couple of more red ones and a white one.

Winter Wednesday # 10

My garden is blessed with about ten camellias.
and are just beginning to peter out.
Now the first of the japonicas are starting to bloom.
Here are July's offerings.

This one has a fairly symmetrical form, begins as a hot pink
(almost red) and the back petals fade to mauve.

The second one has a frilly centre and petal margins that look hand painted.

Who could hate a season that brings such beautiful blooms?

Go on...think hard and write a post about
the joys of Winter.

and I will put a link to your contribution.

Early Camellias

Last year I wrote a separate post for each of the gorgeous camellias that dwell in this garden.
This year I will post them in groups.

E N J O Y !

Numero Uno:  First bloom early April.

Numero Due:  First bloom mid April.

This one is outside the bathroom window and flowered for more than four months, last year.  When we were renovating the bathroom, we hunted for tiles to match it but couldn't find any the right colour.

Have a bloomin wonderful week, everyone.

Camellias # 11 and 12

I am hoping you aren't getting heartily sick of this parade of camellias.  The early ones were novelties but now there have been a dozen...and still some to go.  However, once started I find it impossible to stop.  And at last,  a white one, too.  I do so much prefer the paler colours over the reds.
