I was very excited today,
because I picked the very first raspberry
of the season.
I have a heritage variety, which fruits in Autumn.
If last year is anything to go by,
this will be the first of many over several weeks.
The berry was placed in solitary confinement...
on death row.
The Cook carried out the execution.
Going by the look on her face,
after she finished the task,
I know she enjoyed it.
Poor little raspberry!
Luscious looking raspberry, looks like you're having fun with your camera again Hazel! :)
ReplyDeleteI really hope I eventually get some raspberries to grow. They really are wonderful picked fresh.
ReplyDeleteQuality is more important than quantity!
ReplyDeleteQuite the Madam Defarge is The Cook.
ReplyDeleteDid you get to try any?
ReplyDeleteI LOVE rasberries and a few tucked away here and there so when I'm working in the garden, I've got a snack handy. One in particular has been drip feeding me for months. You were very generous to share with The Cook though....
ReplyDeleteI saw On Death Row and thought.... hmmmm the goats are gunna get it. So glad it was a rasberry !!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHa! My blueberry bush produced it's first lonely little blueberry a little while back. But I didn't tell anyone and ate it myself... Wouldn't want arguments. I like that last photo. New camera works.
ReplyDeleteYou gave Raspberry a good photographic send-off!
