I ran away from teaching to the country to grow veggies. There are also some chooks and a pair of troublesome goats who were so much trouble they had to go! My simple green life isn't always as simple or as green as I'd like...but I keep trying!
I looked at some raspberry sticks the other day...tempting...my espalier experiment failed, so I have some wire already strung up..it might be just the place...
Do you call the fruit plants "sticks" in Australia? We use the term "canes". Presumably the same thing? My Raspberry 'canes' are just beginning to set some fruit. They are a late-fruiting primocane variety called Autumn Bliss.

ReplyDeleteI love the house, it's just what we need here, the darn crows eat everything before us
ReplyDeleteI do like this berry house arrangement. Thinking I need one here.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking the "house" must be to keep birds away from your fruit. We can't grow raspberries here. They would fry - or maybe stew.

Berry nice and berry cute child in the header.
ReplyDeleteWe call them canes here too, Mark. 'Go you good canes' and 'Berry caney situation' just isn't as funny. LOL
ReplyDeleteThat's a well organised berry house Hazel.
ReplyDeleteOh Hazel, bugger the berries, look at that gorgeous baby in your header! Oh I love a squidgee face :)
