My photo
Australia
I ran away from teaching to the country to grow veggies. There are also some chooks and a pair of troublesome goats who were so much trouble they had to go! My simple green life isn't always as simple or as green as I'd like...but I keep trying!

Winter Wednesdays #4

Tis the Winter Solstice down here at the bottom of the Earth.
Although there is lots of cold weather ahead...
we can now go forward into the light!

The air may be crisp and cold...

but the wonderful wintry sunshine
shafts its way into the the forest,

takes the 'prim' out of primulas,

makes the apples blush,

and paints the prickly cactus irresistible.

  16. Winter is actually a great growing season where I live. I love the lushness of the garden at the moment, but oh how I'm celebrating the coming longer days! http://witcheskitchen.com.au/in-season-in-mid-winter-in-nsw/
