Australia
I ran away from teaching to the country to grow veggies. There are also some chooks and a pair of troublesome goats who were so much trouble they had to go! My simple green life isn't always as simple or as green as I'd like...but I keep trying!

Veggie Patch

A view of the Summer Veggies: Silver beet, tomatoes, potatoes, corn and eggplant.

The covered and partially netted garden at the rear of this photo was here when I moved in and it is where I planted a late summer vegetable garden. I am now working on the area closest to the camera. The soil is deep and rich and I am adding manure, blood and bone and straw as I go. The orange netting is to keep the chickens from digging up the garlic and broad beans in that bed. The recycled mosquito net is keeping the white cabbage moths away from an early planting of cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower and bok choy.
