Spring is on the way when:
first the jonquils, then the daffodils make an appearance,
some of the earlier-blooming street trees begin their display,
when this particular, and rather strange, camellia flowers,
when the resident fruit trees threaten to join it,
when all the gardeners begin to plant some of their saved seeds,
and when Hazel goes all ga-ga over the deliciousness of compost.
But the clincher, the biggest and best indicator
that spring is just around the corner, here at Hazel's...
is when the Claude spends more time
in the gardener's favourite fire-side chair
than she does.
my that is some beautiful looking compost you have there
ReplyDeletecheck out the look on that cats face....hah...yes, spring has hit here, I can smell it....it only takes one warm day and that spring 'smell' hits the air...I look forward to it every year....
ReplyDeleteOh Hazel it is good to have your regular posts back - so inspiring.
ReplyDeleteClaude is adorable!!! And yes, spring is an exciting time!
ReplyDeleteI have had Daffodils flowering since early July, hasn't been a cold winter here. I spied last night some leave start to shoot on the magnalia tree and roses. Claude is very relaxed in that chair!
ReplyDeleteHazel, As the garden is winding down here, it's a delight to see these signs of spring in your garden. (I love Claude's lounging position :-)). -Jean
ReplyDeleteLove the cat photos. It's so strange seeing Spring flowers when we're soon going into Autumn in Northern Ireland!
