Australia
I ran away from teaching to the country to grow veggies. There are also some chooks and a pair of troublesome goats who were so much trouble they had to go! My simple green life isn't always as simple or as green as I'd like...but I keep trying!

Just your average bastards

I fed them chook-poo recently,
but this is still as good as they get.

My 'Fat Bastard' asparagus,
has put on some girth
but I don't expect to have any spears
worth eating come Spring.

Oh well, once established,
I am assured I will be eating
asparagus for years.

I hope so!

  2. Hi, looking promising.Gardeners of old believed an asparagus bed needed 5 years to establish!!!
Since Blogger no longer loves me I'm over at wordpress at The Life of Von should you wish to visit. It was an abrupt parting and I couldn't let my followers know but I'm popping in to some to inform them personally. All the best.....
