The King Parrots love the seeds on the Japanese Maples
and feast on them each Autumn.
I followed my ears to something rustling in the trees
and found this immature male and his dad
munching and happy to pose for a few photos.
But does this mean that Autumn is here?
I am not ready yet!
Nooooooo it can't be Autumn yet, there's still so much to do and grow!
ReplyDeleteLove the photo's of the King Parrots.
Cheers
Jan
I think that parrot needs to take a good hard look at himself. I am certainly not losing a third of summer for no bird!...Beautiful as they are....
ReplyDeleteVery handsome birds! I suppose you get used to having such colourful creatures around, but here in the UK we are more likely to get something brown...
ReplyDeleteThe Golden Ash has started to turn and I'm pretty sure it is early this year. Maybe the strange weather we have been having is just tricking nature into thinking Autumn is just around the corner'
ReplyDeleteWe've skipped autumn and gone straight to winter. It's 17C here on the coast on a February evening!!!!
ReplyDeleteKing Parrots are such beautiful birds and so majestic! Great photos Hazel.
ReplyDeleteI think they are just enjoying your garden and it has nothing to do with a premature autumn!
What a handsome father and some! Gorgeous birds with their vivid orange colours. Wish we'd find birds like those here :) Despite this don't think about autumn too much just yet!
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful, we are so lucky here in Australia to have these parrots in our backyards,...we have rainbow lorikeets, huge white cockatoos, kookaburras and rosellas in our backyard at one time or another...
ReplyDeleteBlown away by your photographs here, NOW I have parrot ENVY!
ReplyDeleteThe parrots are lovely. We don't get any birds so colorful here either. Cardinals or a yellow bird now and then but the rest are grey or brown.
ReplyDeleteYes, you're going to have to give up the sun soon. Thank you for taking good care of it, but just send it back on up here. Please enclose a couple of those parrots, too.
ReplyDeleteFantastic photos Hazel!!
ReplyDeletebeautiful aren't they we get alsorts of wildlife out here..about 17 kangaroos live across the road and bound up and down around our property sometimes even taking a short cut right across our front lawn, we get hares and rabbits, corellas, cockatoos, sparrows, galah's galore, rainbow loorikeets, snakes, blue tongue lizards..sometimes i feel like i am living in a nat geo doco
ReplyDeleteNo, no, no! Before I know it I'll have to be faking my way to thinking up something positive for your Winter Wednesdays.
