My photo
Australia
I ran away from teaching to the country to grow veggies. There are also some chooks and a pair of troublesome goats who were so much trouble they had to go! My simple green life isn't always as simple or as green as I'd like...but I keep trying!

Blushin' and bloomin'

'Where have you bean?' asked Borlotti of the veggie patch.

 And in the greenhouse
 One capsicum is blushing...
and there are more on the way...

...and the tomatoes growing and beginning to ripen.

Some of the plants in the greenhouse are a bit yellowed.
They really need a lot of water
because of the heat in there.
They probably didn't get quite enough
while I was away.
However, I am excited to have tomatoes
this mature at this time of the year in my climate.
I have never had a capsicum this early either.

Go you good
Fat Fruit Greenhouse!

  3. That is absolutely fantastic Hazel. It has been such a cool season here and the tomatoes and capsicums are very slow setting this year.
Made a delicious "Greyzini zucchini slicini" from my plant (one of your babies) and used some of those beautiful eggs that you gave me on the weekend. Yum!

  5. Welcome back Hazel! One of the benefits of greenhouse gardening, plants are much more advanced when grown under glass :)

  6. Go on. Rub it in. You Aussies can have home-grown tomatoes in December, but our turn will come...(eventually).
