My photo
Australia
I ran away from teaching to the country to grow veggies. There are also some chooks and a pair of troublesome goats who were so much trouble they had to go! My simple green life isn't always as simple or as green as I'd like...but I keep trying!

Veggie Garden - Four corners #1

Here is the first in a series of views from each of the corners of the vegetable garden.  I have included that little plan, so you can orient yourselves.  I think it will get bigger if you click on it.

View 1:  From the north-east corner.
The grassy bit in the foreground is the over-wintered carrot patch.
Yes, it is weedy, but the carrots are great.
The orange conduit and net (right)
is the berry house which runs along the back fence.
You can see the greenhouse, and the shelves (in front of the shed)
with the containers and pots that are the 'outside' component
of my greenhouse experiments.

View 2: From the north-east corner.
In the foreground, potatoes.  Behind that, newly planted tomatoes.
Further back, onions and then broad beans.
To the left, in the raised bed, more onions and leeks.

View 3: From the south-west corner, looking diagonally back to first view.

Lots of garlic.  There is tiny corn in the foreground,
and a couple of zucchini.

View 4: From the south-east corner.
In the foreground, there are pumpkins planted...and more garlic.

You can bet, the next time I do a 'Four Corners' post,
 it will look very different...
so long as I can keep the goats out!

  5. Nice!!!Have you discovered the quick to fix poly arch, great for beans etc.4 lenths of steel 2 metres long cut by Mitre 10 for you, bang firmly into the ground and fix 2 lenths of blueline or heavier black poly piping each 5 metres long.Wire on a 5 metre lenth of netting preferably wire and bingo a 10 minute arch which can be repeated ad infinitum if you want a tunnel.Works for all climbers and is easily moveable.
