I ran away from teaching to the country to grow veggies. There are also some chooks and a pair of troublesome goats who were so much trouble they had to go! My simple green life isn't always as simple or as green as I'd like...but I keep trying!

Winter.in.the.herb.potager

Winter.is.hard.on.most.herbs.
It.isn't.cold.enough.here.to.kill.them.....
but.it.does.make.them.pretty.miserable.

The.pavers.are.growing.moss.
The.mosaic.has.lost.a.few.stones.and,is.suitably.dirty.

What.could.that.forest.of.square.trunked.trees.in.the.background.be?

  1. I agree with Farmchick. You are so lucky your winter doesn't kill off your herbs. So much longer to enjoy them!!

  3. Hazel, I think we must be in a more temperate clime here in Sydney, because our herbs are going gangbusters. Well, some of them are - the thyme, rosemary and oregano - plus the continental parsley which is threatening to stage a coup d'etat in the backyard. The sage is cactus, and the basil is just about gone, but it's hard to believe it made it to August anyway...
