We had lovely visitors here yesterday.
A long cherished friend and her son
who is developing into an amazing
young man.
What I enjoyed most
was his obvious enjoyment
of the simple things in life!
Inspired by Rhonda.

And the rest of the cake was pretty good too! It was a beautiful, peaceful day visiting you in the bush, greeting the goats, chooks and viewing the "grand" estate. Thank you for the lovely comments. xx
ReplyDeleteLicking cake beaters - ah, this is good to see!
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely weekend, Hazel :)
Nothing beats getting the beaters of the spoon and bowl after the pans are filled. YUM!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it lovely to know that some things never change. :)
ReplyDeleteBrings back lovely memories of licking the beaters at Grandma's house for me.
ReplyDeletekim
it's been ages since I've licked a beater. don't seem to want to anymore, so Hubby gets them all. but those were the days, eh?!

Cake and kids; gotta love it:)
ReplyDeleteMemories of our childhood cooking, memories of cooking with children, memories of cooking with grandchildren all involving the licking of beaters and bowls. Now, I sometimes get to lick my own beaters if I am home alone. HDW
ReplyDeleteH hazel, isn't it funny how one little picture brings back so many wonderful childhood memories. There were never enough beaters to go around to five children though when I was young.
ReplyDeleteAhhh licking freshly made whipped cream - one of life's delights!
ReplyDeleteI admire your goals in life and wish you so much luck with them.
I am visiting through the 'Down to Earth' link-up. Have a wonderful weekend :)
Blessings,
This Good Life

What a great photo. It sounds like a lovely day.
ReplyDeleteI only have one at home to lick the beaters now but on the odd occasion when all 3 are here there is still some discussion over who has the beaters and who scrapes the bowl, lol!
ReplyDeleteNice to see some things you don't grow out of :).
