Australia
I ran away from teaching to the country to grow veggies. There are also some chooks and a pair of troublesome goats who were so much trouble they had to go! My simple green life isn't always as simple or as green as I'd like...but I keep trying!

I've fallen off the wagon

I just thought I would make
a quick visit to the nursery last week.
Ooops!

In my defense,
some of these babies were on the $2 table.

*cue dreamy music*

One day when I get a greenhouse,
I swear I will never buy seedlings again.
...probably.

  1. I was admiring Veggie Paks seed collecting the other day, I rarely do it...I find I just dont have time to do the mother thing, the family thing, the crafty thing and the vegie garden thing as well by sewing my own seeds...Im a punnet girl...and I know it is more expensive, but somethings gotta give...chuck em in and let us know what you planted...

  3. I'm afraid I have the same weakness. Oh, wouldn't a greenhouse be grand? Love your new header pic.

  4. The $2 table is my weakness too. It's my maternal instinct, I think they need rescuing!

  8. A bit of retail therapy never hurt anyone, especially if you're helping to rescue plants that might end up in the compost pile. Besides I think we all love a bargain, makes you feel good all the way down to your toes. :)

  10. Oh, THAT sort of wagon... I thought you meant the alcoholic one! And, yes, we did sport the "probably" word.

  12. Temptation...temptation...So far for autumn I had success avoiding nursery. If I need compost or manure I ask my husband to buy it for me so I don't get near the seedling section.

  13. I've been dreaming of a greenhouse too. Surprisingly, buying seedlings is not one of my addictions.

  14. I get the shakes if I don't visit a nursery at least once a fortnight, clearance plants are my weakness too. ;)

  15. Seeds are economical, but seedlings are fun and fast!

  16. Thats waht I did yesterday. Went in for snail traps, came out with plants instead.
After the slow start and creatures eating everything, seedlings are just the way to go!

  17. Oh those clearance tables, I know exactly what you mean, but I see this syndrome is quite common. Better count me in to the Garden Bargain Shoppers Anonymous club. It looks as though you got a great variety there of lovely plants - just exactly how many of these were in the 2.00 bin? Oh I thought so.....

  18. I'm trying to grow from seed at the moment, using a makeshift greenhouse, but nothing is happening: I think it might be just a bit too cold...

  19. Hi Hazel! Cross fingers you'll get a greenhouse soon. And I'm sure you'll carry on buying plants, it's way too fun not to! :)
