Australia
I ran away from teaching to the country to grow veggies. There are also some chooks and a pair of troublesome goats who were so much trouble they had to go! My simple green life isn't always as simple or as green as I'd like...but I keep trying!

One hundred percent

Dinner last night was just a plate of roast veggies, some beans and silverbeet with a little gravy.
A modest meal
no fancy recipe
no complicated sauces
but 100% home grown.

Simply picked,
prepared
and eaten
in front of the fire.

  8. Looks like a great selection of home-grown veg. Did you by any chance have them with home-made bread? Maybe a bit of Membrillo for pudding...?

I've just bought some "Lazy Housewife" beans, based on your eulogies of them.

  10. Mark, I am sure you will be delighted with the lazy housewife beans...mine are still going. Slower but a handful every two or three days.
Hearts-in- in Asia...roast beetroot is just so sweet.

  13. So when was it that I am being adopted? I hope we get to have a pavlova in celebration of the event. I was thinking about your food percentages (they were your dad's weren't they?), and I managed to hit a 50% for brekkie the other day. One banana and then eggs and bacon and toast... banana and eggs home grown, bacon and toast not... although a toast tree would be great, I'll have to look into that.

I can't wait to have a 100 percenter... I can only hope to one day reach your dizzying vegetable heights Miss Hazel :D

  14. I may have to put off the adoption because the house will be full in June...my soe and his family are coming over from the States so i can meet my grand daughter!

You could increase your percentage with home made bread. Please make sure you see Monday's post...it is a special one just for you. :-)

Saw the sign up at the house the other day. It's even lit up at night. Would have been a wonderful backyard to grow up in!
