My photo
Australia
I ran away from teaching to the country to grow veggies. There are also some chooks and a pair of troublesome goats who were so much trouble they had to go! My simple green life isn't always as simple or as green as I'd like...but I keep trying!

Is that your bonnet, Granny?

The aquilegia or granny bonnets or columbines are flowering in the garden.

If you look closely you will see another granny in her bonnet in this photo.

Did you know there was an australian native flower also known as granny bonnet?

  1. Beautiful! I'm so jealous, since it's getting to be late and cold autumn here. Not too many columbines blooming here... I've never heard them called Granny bonnets, though! I like that!
