Australia
I ran away from teaching to the country to grow veggies. There are also some chooks and a pair of troublesome goats who were so much trouble they had to go! My simple green life isn't always as simple or as green as I'd like...but I keep trying!

Camellia # 3

I like the symmetry of this latest camellia to flower and it is the most beautiful pink with the older petals turning to mauve. It is my favorite so far.

  1. Camelia shrubs are one of my favourite non indigenous plants. They survive very difficult seasons or conditions and still reward you with beautiful flowers in early winter.

  2. That is a very beautiful flower. Your camelia treewill look beautiful when all the flowers are out.

  3. The two earlier flowering camellias have been blooming for about a month and the fallen petals on the ground are beautiful too.

  4. Two of mine are full of buds...lots of flowering potential! There is an article in this months Gardening Australia magazine about camellias which gives a bit of historical information about this popular flowering shrub.
