There is no veggie garden at Hazel's yet.
Unless I get the creek pump fixed,
and the chooks under control,
there won't be one either.
But there are vegetables,
in the Fat Fruit Greenhouse...
safe from the foul intentions of feral fowl,
and easy to water from the nearby tank.
Several varieties of capsicum, butter beans...
eggplant...
lots of leaves and lettuce,
I am loving these polystyrene boxes from the chemist,
which fit neatly on the shelves.
The tomatoes are up to my shoulder and setting fruit.
There is also a range of seedlings
ready to be planted out in the garden
if I ever solve the problems of the water and chooks.
Marigolds, capsicums, tomatoes, watermelon, luffa, pumpkins, and cucumbers.
I would love to free range my girls around the place Hazel, but they just destroy everything...so I made the decision to put them back in the house and run...and only let the five of them out when I have time to supervise them for an hour or so....I know they hate it in there and would love to be out but I like my vegies more....I make sure I throw in stuff to keep them occupied...and the run is nicely shaded with a mandarin tree..so really in terms of chook housing, they are pretty well off...
ReplyDeleteYour green house looks fit to burst with goodness in there...absolutely....bet you are loving the fact you have got that to hide it all in away from the feathery fiends...
It looks so nice and lush inside the fat fruit greenhouse. You'll have a bountiful harvest from there :)
ReplyDeleteThank goodness for the greenhouse! You must do something about those chooks. Maybe you could section off some part of your garden with a movable fence? That's what I do. But mine don't fly so my fence doesn't need to be too good.
ReplyDeleteHow about a chook moveable chook dome(google chicken dome) yuor vege looks A grade ,lovely and lush
ReplyDeleteLooks like some lovely stuff there, Hazel. And to think I have about another 4 or 5 months before I'll be able to have anything comparable is not pleasant!
