If you asked me to do a quick drawing of a flower,
I would probably draw something daisy-like.
How boring when it could be
something as flamboyant as Miss Rhoda Dendron...
... or as daintily floribund as Mrs Banksia Rose...
...or as discreet as the tiny japanese, Miss Maple...
..or as textural as the Mr Elm...
...or as bright and starry as the native Ms Wax...
...or as chocolatey as Mr Pitto Sporum
...or as potentially fruity as Miss Mul Berry...
...or as demure as Granny in her bonnet...
...or as unforgetable as this...
...or as flaggy and fragrant as Mis Lav Ender...
...or as promisingly fecund as Mrs Cox Pippen...
..or as complex and community minded as Mr Wis Teria?
I believe you have a kids' picture book half written Hazel. :)
ReplyDeleteReminds me of The Garden Gang books ... One thing, Hazel: how can you tell the gender of all these flowers??
ReplyDeletethats alot of flowering pretties in your garden.all looking so lovely and fine
ReplyDeleteLoverly Hazel! It is good to see these beauties after being in the desert for 2 weeks.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, you have veritable plethora of fragrant friends in your garden........
ReplyDeleteIm listening to the rustley sound Mr Elm makes when his blossoms get dry right now....
Me, I would draw a daisy too, but only because I have no artistic skill. Definitely not because of a lack of beautiful blooms.
ReplyDeleteGreat post and play on words Hazel! Spring has truly arrived in your garden, lovely blooms!
ReplyDeleteI had no idea pittosporums had such interesting flowers until a month ago when I was looking for filler for a flower arrangement. They are really pretty wee chocolatey blooms! My out of control pittosporum gets a stay of execution, for a little while...
