- I ran away from teaching to the country to grow veggies. There are also some chooks and a pair of troublesome goats who were so much trouble they had to go! My simple green life isn't always as simple or as green as I'd like...but I keep trying!

Sweeties
Anybody who played in my father's garden will recognize this little pretty. It is salvia of course, and all the kids know that if you tug on the flower it comes away and you can suck the nectar from underneath. You know my aim is to grow as much food as I can, and therefore I am planting fruit and vegetables mainly. Well this wasn't here, I planted it... but I am classifying it as edible.

Sweet memories!
ReplyDeleteThe flowers would be great in a salad.
ReplyDeleteI will try them in a salad. They are the most beautiful lipstick colour and certainly look yummy!
ReplyDeleteYour mother will be most impressed.
ReplyDeleteNow for some nasturtiums for the salad.
ReplyDeleteLooked at nasturtiums yesterday..wrong time of year to plant. Apparently they are a good companion plant for apples...as is dill.
ReplyDeleteNasturtiums don't survive frosts so, yes, you will have to wait.
