No, not The Movie...the beans!
The beans on my 2 metre tall teepee made from fallen branches
are almost to the top and are beginning to produce.
Have you ever noticed that climbing things
always seem to twine in an anti-clockwise direction?
This year I have the usual black eggplants growing,
and a white one and this long one.
I thought this one was worth a photo
because it is twins from one flower.
Is this unusual?
I told it to smile for a second photo
but it gave me the two-finger salute...
or maybe it was just pleased with the attention.
Wow, those beans are certainly reaching for the sky. Our beans sadly haven't fared too well this season. Got some fungal disease early on and didn't produce their usual bounty.
ReplyDeleteTwo eggplants form the one flower, that must be a rarity, great pic.
Claire :}
Those look really good.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Everything is so lush and green!
ReplyDeleteWhooohoooo a double banger, two for the price of one..I like it...
ReplyDeleteAnd , we love that movie, cept for the scary dog things...good theme....
Oooh you are cheeky!
ReplyDeleteDo climbing things twine in a clockwise direction in the northern hemisphere? Sort of like water down a plug hole.
ReplyDeleteThose aubergines are certainly impressive - though hardly beautiful in the conventional sense. Re climbing in different directions: I've never really thought about this. I'm trying to picture my beans from last year. I THINK they went in a clockwise direction, but I wouldn't swear to it. Possibly due to following the sun's trajectory??
ReplyDeleteThose aubergines looks sumptuous! It's inspired me to do an aubergine tortilla tonight (with aurbergines from the supermarket though).
