My photo
Australia
I ran away from teaching to the country to grow veggies. There are also some chooks and a pair of troublesome goats who were so much trouble they had to go! My simple green life isn't always as simple or as green as I'd like...but I keep trying!

Four corner views #2

I took these photos as a record of the veggie garden
as I headed off on my trip.

So I will be able to ascertain the difference
when I return...and, if I have to,
I will use them to whack The Cook
over the head if she lets it all die.

Check out the potatoes in front.

I have three colours of climbing beans growing up that tee pee
made from fallen branches.  It is very tall.

Oh no!
I just got an email from The Cook
to say the creek pump, which feeds
all the taps in the garden,
has gone on the blink.

Being the mechanical incompetent
that she is, she will have no hope
of fixing the pump...
even if it is the simplest problem.
She is using buckets.
I am expecting to see the veggies
all tall and lush and
The Cook, all thin and taut
when I return.

  1. Don't worry, Hazel; I'm sure The Cook will get Bob the Builder (or whoever) round to fix the pump pretty soon... You concentrate on Granny Camp, and stop panicking now!

  2. Hazel- Although there hasn't been a lot of rain since you left the weather has been quite cool and moist. My vegetables are thriving without any TLC - my pumpkins are growing about 5cm each night! HDW

  3. Oh no, the poor thing. Maybe she can get a nice neighbour to have a look at it.
I hope it is something simple and not expensive.

  4. Hazel the veg won't die from lack of water but they may be in shock from the temps. It' was 14 degrees here in the Illawarra this morning.

"Mechanical incompetent" is a good term, much nicer than my appellation: "bloody twit".
