Australia
I ran away from teaching to the country to grow veggies. There are also some chooks and a pair of troublesome goats who were so much trouble they had to go! My simple green life isn't always as simple or as green as I'd like...but I keep trying!

The mind is a funny thing..

My love affair with eggs...constantly on my mind.
I see them everywhere!
Even in the light fittings of the
Manchester Unity Building
in Melbourne.

A teacher's mind is always a teacher's mind...
Even having fled the classroom,
I still see the spelling errors!

Or maybe, I am just not in touch with
realty any more.

Have a lovely Friday!

  1. An obvious and terrible spelling mistake. You think they would notice that!

  2. Just think how many people were involved in making that sign and no-one spotted it. I think we read what we expect to see. I always get someone else to proof important documents I write, as I can never see my own mistakes.
    Love the egg light.

  4. Yep, bad spelling annoys me too. I'm a "Senior Principal Lecturer" and I was dismayed the other day to see one of my colleagues sign himself "Senior Principle Lecturer". I presume it was a mistake...but maybe not?

  5. Think it was Pooh who said - "My spelling is Wobbly. It's good spelling but it Wobbles, and the letters get in the wrong places."

  6. I'm with you on the spelling Hazel (former teacher too), but how about the word "solution" as in that ad? It seems that, over the last decade, we have developed problems we never knew we had, hence the supply of solutions.

Maybe Tony and I could put that on the side of our little shop? "Art solutions".

  7. Heehee very egglike indeed! And I'm with you on spelling - I often bemoan that people don't even use a spell check on documents they submit if they can't be bothered spelling properly!

  8. Oooo! You have me wrong. i am not that worried aout spelling in some situations. Writing is for communication, and so long as the message gets through, then the purpose is met. In fact it usually just gives me a good laugh. Perhaps in a 'commercial' situation, people should be more careful. It is just, that as an ex chalkie, I can't help but notice.

  9. Oh, I love that sign! Maybe this firm specializes in providing a reality check for sellers with an outsized idea of what their house is worth! (BTW, I find that years of teaching has had a deleterious effect on my spelling. There are some words that I've seen mis-spelled so often that I do a double take if someone gets it right.) Thanks for the chuckle. -Jean
